I have many times heard comparisons between this behavior and that of religious people defending their faith. It is therefore interesting that this idea has now been put to the test.
It appears that these so-called fanboys display traits, and even have MRI results that are representative of religious Joehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08391671098047981168noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6093291433708471079.post-11245740003066637422010-12-06T14:44:00.007+01:002010-12-06T14:49:39.448+01:00HDMI dock for the Galaxy Tab

I was in the store the other day and noticed that the HDMI dock had arrived. We got to test it on there TV's to see how they worked. Interesting results to say the least.
The HDMI dock requires power to be used. This is most likely due the the fact that the Galaxy Tab doesn't actually have an HDMI signal, but rather has native Displayport, requiring active Joehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08391671098047981168noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6093291433708471079.post-72845305403827524072010-11-29T10:15:00.007+01:002010-12-06T14:54:59.658+01:00Samsung Galaxy Tab - A short review
Samsung Galaxy Tab
An iPad-killer it is not, but Samsung's contribution to the tablet world is without a doubt an interesting and rich product. But there are two clear groups of tablet purchasers out there: the 10-inchers and the 7-inchers. This is obviously a completely platform independent preference.

They obviously wouldn't want anyone to forget them. But will the tablets boasting Windows really be any competition for the increasingly popular Android and iOS? I'm not so sure.

First off, the setting for SSID is misleading, as the application supplies it's own prefix for the name. That has now changed. I definitely have to change my lazy ways. I guess it isn't going to help much that I just purchased a Nintendo Wii and an LCD TV.

The Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook P1610 definitely fit the bill. There is even talk of it being the new great thing for the classroom. This may very well be, but what is Web 2.0 and why do people see the importance of it?
The largest problem of Web 2.0 is that it is often presented as, and people assume, that it is some kind of technological standard. This isn't the case. A machine of this small size, however, might not be for everyone. Many times I have found 'features' that I didn't appreciate and would like to have changed, yet the restictions on proprietary systems tend to disallow customizing of the system and interface. I've been following the progress with open source firmware wireless routers and the available Linux-based third party firmware variations for some time now. I recently purchased the Asus WL-HDD so I can play a bit with OpenWrt firmware. Be warned that OpenWrt is the least user friendly firmware, so the faint of heart need not attempt to use this particular firmware.

For those of you unfamiliar with the UMPC (Ultra Micro PC), it is a specification for a PC detailing size and functionality restraints. These will have a maximum 7" screen, wireless capabilities, touch screen, and run the TabletPC version of Windows XP. The Asus is actually a latecomer to the party, having several well established competitors on the market.
